WELSH LEAGUE U19

AFAN LIDO 3-3 PORT TALBOT

By Peter Reynolds

This was the final 19's game of the season played with a background of an electrical storm with terrific
flashes of lightening.

The Lido started slowly with Port Talbot taking the lead when the linesman allowed an extremely long
advantage before calling them back for an inviting free kick on the by-line.

Needless to say they scored from it, however we went straight down from the kick off and equalised through Aaron Keefe.

Once again we went behind following some poor defending but within minutes Remi Whitelock once again levelled matters.

The Town keeper then made a terrific save from Craig Jones but right on half time he gave us
the lead with a drive from the edge of the area.

In the second half we had several opportunities to increase our lead but the Town held out.  Minutes
after their keeper made a good save off Janson Whitelock, Town equalised when they lobbed Jay Evans
who had ventured outside his area.

Both sides had chances to win but neither could quite manage to get the final touch.
So both matches with our neighbours ended all square, this was their only point away from home in a
disappointing season for both clubs.
