| Match
report by Peter Reynolds
The match was
played in a torrential downpour which made it difficult for both sides.
After six minutes Steve Cook got back to back heel the ball off
the goal line while on twenty one minutes Morriston hit the
crossbar.
Karl Reynolds
then forced their keeper into two fine saves in the space of a
minute. On forty four minutes he made an instinctive one handed
save from a close range effort from Neil Hendra.
On forty nine minutes Steve Osborne saved well to his left while
their keeper again kept them in the game with a double save off
Mitch Patton.
On seventy
eight minutes a close range Karl Reynolds header seemed destined
for the net but a defender managed to get in the way of it.
The conditions
were making for an open game and we again pressed forward only
to have a corner.
From the corner the ref awarded us a penalty that Steve Osborne
netted to give us the lead. Unfortunately with two minutes to
go, a speculative shot from outside the area squirmed through
his grip to produce the equaliser. Perhaps a fair result considering the conditions.
Our only
sub was Carl Hughes who had to replace Gary Isaacs who was injured in a
tackle and went to hospital for an X-ray.
On Monday the
Reserves play their final match when they play Pontardawe at
the Marston's Stadium.
It's
Pontardawe's home match following the abandoned match a couple of weeks ago.
