AFAN LIDO 0-1 UWIC
Match report by Peter Reynolds

This was a top of the table clash -- UWIC in third place and us in fourth.

Leading scorer Ian Jones and Karl Reynolds both failed fitness tests so Chris Piper and Shaun O'Leary came into the side that won at Ton Pentre last time out.

It was a game of few chances, Justin Williams cleared one off the line after 33 minutes and Wyn Walters made a good save just before half time.
As the second half progressed it became apparent that one goal  would win this game.

Defences were generally on top and either a bit of brilliance or a mistake would settle the outcome.

Sadly for us it was the latter, Craig Jones playing a square ball hit a defender and the ball fell invitingly for Sam Small who fired home from the edge of the area giving Wyn Walters no chance.

Our best chance came in the last ten minutes when a Karl Lewis header brought a good save from former Lido keeper Brendan Cropley.

Carl Evans was injured in the first half and was replaced by Greg Hurley while Justin Williams was injured in the second half and replaced by Carl J Evans.
