BRYNTIRION 3-3 AFAN LIDO
Match report by Peter Reynolds

There were several enforced changes from last Tuesday, Carl J Evans, Karl  Lewis and Craig Jones were injured and Steve Parry and Andrew Pearson unavailable. Daniel Williams came in for his first team debut while Liam McCreesh was available after his suspension and Chris Piper returned.

Steve Llewellyn (Weedie was named on the bench) After about a half an hour I commented that this game had nil nil written all over it (shows how much I know!!) Neither side had offered anything in front of goal, then we were awarded a penalty that Ian Jones tucked away to give us a 38th minute lead.

On the stroke of half time Ian beat the offside trap, rounded the keeper and stuck the ball into the empty net to give us a 2-0 interval lead.

Mentally we were still in the dressing rooms when Bryntirion equalised though their leading scorer Jon Cuss. A long ball over the to caught us unprepared and he lobbed it over the onrushing Wyn Walters.

There was an element of luck about their equaliser on 68 minutes, Cuss shot from the edge of the area and it took a big deflection to wrong foot Wyn.

Piper held the ball up well and fed Karl Reynolds whose cross was met by Ian Jones at the far post but the keeper saved at the expense of a corner. With two minutes to go Justin Williams fouled Cuss in the box, he picked himself up to net the resultant penalty and fire the home side ahead.

We kicked off and with Bryntirion looking to play out the game and failing to clear their lines, Ian Jones netted his third in added on time to secure a point.
