BRIDGEND 1-0 AFAN LIDO
Match report by Peter Reynolds

Another disappointing defeat made all the worse as Bridgend played for 80 minutes with a substitute in goal after Marty Ellacott and defender Ryland Morgan collided and were both taken to hospital. There was a 25 minute delay with both teams taken to the changing rooms.

We played with a strong wind at our backs in the first half yet we failed to test the keeper. The only shot of note was from Chris Piper but that hit the crossbar and went behind for a goal kick. Bridgend came out for the second half and immediately tested Wyn Walters with a shot from the edge of the area.

The only goal was scored on 50 minutes and yet again it was from our point of view, bizarre. We conceded a free kick five yards inside our half, full back Leigh Pratt put the ball down and hit it over Wyn, who was on the six yard line, to score.

The only possible debating point was if the ball was still when he took the kick.  However he probably deserved the goal for his quick thinking and awareness, something we seem to lack at the moment. Against the wind our best chance fell to Karl Lewis who managed to scoop the ball over the crossbar from six yards.

Carl Edwards replaced Luke Harrington on the hour and  Alistair Walkley
replaced Liam McCreesh after they picked up injuries while Matthew Lavis
replaced Greg Hurley with 10 minutes to go.
