Cambrian
& Clydach League Prog's edition
Good
evening and welcome to the officials, players and supporters of
Cambrian and Clydach Boys Club to the Marston’s Stadium for this
evening’s MacWhirter Welsh League Division One match.
I’d
also like to welcome the three officials, Garwyn Davies in the
middle with Nigel Howes and Derek Williams assisting.
We hope you have a good game and we’ll see you in the club
afterwards.
Tonight
is another vital league match.
Our opponents appointed former Ton Pentre favourite Richard
Haig as manager early in the season and they haven't been out of the
top half of the league all season therefore I'm anticipating another
tough game.
Tuesday
evening saw us climb into second position after a 4-0 home win
against Pontypridd. Goals
from Kieran Howells, Corey Thomas, Ian Jones and a penalty from
goalkeeper Leon Cosker gained us a comfortable victory.
Once again a number of missed chances went begging which
needs addressing very soon. The
central defence pairing of Shaun Morgan and Daniel Williams seems to
be blossoming at the moment with yet another clean sheet on Tuesday.
Young Corey Thomas had a fine game in midfield with his
enthusiasm and awareness rubbing off on more senior players.
Shaun
Best is unavailable tonight because of work commitments whilst Steve
Parry returns after missing the Pontypridd match.
Dan McGrath is still a couple of weeks away from full fitness
after pulling his hamstring a month ago.
The
players have put the club in a great position at present and
hopefully our excellent run will continue tonight against determined
opponents. The players
realise that they are now at the business end of the season and
cool heads with 100% commitment is the name of the day.
Hopefully we can keep playing well and keep creating chances
which I'm sure will be taken.
Enjoy
the game
