Caldicot
Town League Prog's edition
I'd
like to welcome today’s match officials to the Marston’s Stadium
for the MacWhirter Welsh League Division One match against Caldicot.
They are Adrian Wilson, David Powell and David Kennedy, enjoy
the game and we’ll see you in the club afterwards.
I’d
also like to welcome the officials, players and supporters of
Caldicot Town Football Club.
Our
opponents currently occupy a mid table position and they gained an
excellent home win last Saturday against Bryntirion.
We need to be on top of our game and take nothing for granted
to enable us to continue climbing the table.
Steve
Davies comes back into the squad after missing our mid week draw
against Caerleon whilst Karl Lewis is unavailable.
Promising centre back Shaun Morgan will undergo a late
fitness test after the knee injury that occurred against
Croesyceiliog sidelined him for the Caerleon game.
Against
Caerleon I thought we just done enough to have won the game but had
to settle for a point.
After a nervy start we came into the game after 20 minutes
and dominated for the rest of the half with Michael Waters once
again prominent.
Michael scored another goal from outside the 18 yard box and
his probing runs caused the Caerleon defence problems all evening.
Dan McGrath had his best game for the club whilst Kieran
Howells put in another solid display.
Karl Lewis worked tirelessly on the right hand side and young
Corey Thomas showed some neat touches up front again.
Caerleon equalised from a free kick with a well taken header
in the second half and late on we had a couple of chances to have
won the game but it wasn't to be.
Nevertheless we remain unbeaten in our last 5 games and
confidence seems to be growing with the players.
Today's
game is another vital fixture because 4 of the top 5 teams are
playing each other so something has to give, therefore if we can
gain another 3 points it will put us just behind the leading pack.
Enjoy
the game
