Aaron Keefe scored his first senior goal in added on time to provide us with a consolation goal in our Welsh Cup tie. Andrew Pearson passed a late fitness test and played. Surprisingly at this level Queens Park had five players wearing the wrong shirt numbers and one of them sporting a number 16 shirt which wasn't even on the team sheet was booked. A professional club with an amateur outlook.

After the expected early pressure from the home team we settled down and looked in good shape in the early stages of the half. On 7 minutes Carl Edwards knocked a fifty yard pass to Steve Davies who was wide in the area, Steve hit his shot first time on the volley their keeper did well to turn the shot behind for a corner. Steve knocked the corner in and we won a second which Steve again took and this one found the head of Paul Evans whose on target header was headed off the line with the keeper beaten. The ball was played back into the area but Chris Latham's shot from 10 yards flew over the crossbar. Queens Park then beat the offside trap but Wyn Walters saved the shot pushing it away, a Park player reached it first but his shot found the side netting.

After 13 minutes we knocked a free kick into the box, it was headed on and just before we pulled the trigger a Park defender managed to clear. Despite not scoring we looked to have the measure of the home side at this point but then on 20 minutes we went behind in somewhat bizarre circumstances. A Daniel Williams clearance hit Carl Evans and rebounded straight to their 9 who was 10 yards out and unmarked. He hit a powerful right footed shot giving Wyn no chance in goal. We went two down on the half hour when Daniel Williams headed the ball behind for a corner, they took it and in a planned move found their 7 two yards out and he nodded in the second. Four minutes later we almost reduced the arrears when Kieran Howells received a throw from Andrew Pearson and fed Carl Edwards whose first time shot was just wide.

Just before half time a length of the field move from Wyn through several players saw Andrew Pearson get in a shot which was over the bar. In the early stages of the second half the Park defence was generally on top breaking up our attacks. 10 minutes in Wyn again made a good save when a cross was missed by Chris Latham but Wyn raced off his line to close the striker down and block the shot. Wyn cleared the ball and we were awarded a free kick 25 yards out, it was taken by Andrew Pearson, the keeper tipped the ball over for a corner. Park knocked the ball out for a Lido throw close to the corner flag, Steve Davies knocked the ball in for Chris Latham but it didn't come down quickly enough and Park managed to clear the ball to half way where it was picked up by their 10 who raced from the half way to score the third giving Wyn no chance.

Just after the hour after some good build up play Kieran Howells shot forcing the keeper to go full length and turn the ball away for another corner. Park with the confidence of a three goal lead knocked the ball around well but we kept trying and with 7 minutes to go Kieran Howells found Corey Thomas who slipped it inside to Andrew Pearson but he shot straight at the keeper. 3 minutes from time Carl Edwards had the ball wide right of their area and his cross cum shot beat the keeper but drifted beyond the far post. Park then had a player sent off for what appeared to be a kick at Karl Lewis while he lay on the ground. Two minutes into added on time Aaron Keefe scored from 5 yards, we continued to push forward and Steve Davies shot just wide from 30 yards.
