CWMAVON 2-0 AFAN LIDO

Today Lido Colts played away against Cwmavon.  Lido played well, keeping their shape and holding their positions.

Lido dominated the game and were unlucky when Cwmavon broke away and scored after ten minutes.  At the restart Lido again took control of the game, playing good passing football.

James showed great improvement in midfield, Jack and Mitchell Tristram were strong in attack and Owain and Luke were solid in defence.  Jackson, Daniel and Jack took turns at being goalkeeper and all had little to do in the Lido goal.

During Daniel’s turn in goals he showed how brave he is by playing on after being on the receiving end of a tough challenge.

Mitchell Divetta moved back today to play in defence and even though he was feeling poorly he was still able to put in an excellent performance.

Cwmavon managed to score a second goal after fifteen minutes, again on the break, even though Joseph and Ethan tracked back to close the Cwmavon striker down.  Lido remained positive and after the restart they once again dominated.

Lido pushed forward in support but were unable to score.  As the game went on Lido grew in confidence but were unable to capitalise.  Altogether Lido hit the post twice, had four attempts cleared off the line and spent most of the game in the Cwmavon half.

Richard had a difficult decision to make for today’s man of the match award, he was really proud of all the boys who played but a decision had to be made.

He decided that this week’s man of the match should be shared between Jacob and Connor Roberts, but everyone deserves a special mention for playing so well.  Well done boys!!
