A penalty 14
minutes from time gave us the three points and Stebonheath.
We played against a strong wind in the first half and other than
Llanelli having a goal disallowed after
two minutes we defended well.
We almost took the
lead on 7 minutes when Shaun Best forced a diving save from the
Llanelli keeper and generally had the better of the half although
David Anderson in goal made one fine save just before half time.
With the elements
at our back we pushed forward and a move involving Remi Whitlock,
Corey Thomas and Steve Hughes resulted in Steve shooting wide when
well placed. On 49 minutes David Anderson made a fine double
save to keep the scores level and we returned to the attack only for
Remi Whitlock to shoot over the bar following a pass from Shaun
Best.
On 63 minutes a goal bound
header from Carl Payne from a Josh Cockings free kick was well saved
by the keeper. The breakthrough came on 76 minutes, substitute
Josh Cokeley shot and it was handled in the box. Remi Whitlock
fired home to score what turned out to be the only goal. On 86
minutes Corey Thomas fired wide and Remi tried his luck from 40
yards but his effort sailed over the bar. In added on time
David Anderson made a terrific save to preserve our lead when he
dived to his left to save Llanelli's last effort.
