AFAN LIDO 3-1 HAVERFORDWEST

Lido overcame a
determined Haverfordwest to maintain their 100% league record at the
Marston's Stadium on Tuesday.
We introduced a new
keeper, David Anderson and midfielder Carl Payne.
Josh Cockings gave
us a sixth minute lead when he headed home from eight yards
following a free kick and Corey Thomas doubled the lead on seventeen
minutes following a defensive mix up.
The visitors centre
back headed the ball back to the keeper
who failed to gather and Corey nipped in to score. We
had several chances to increase our lead before Haverfordwest
pulled one back on
forty three minutes. With time and space to clear a defensive
throw in we produced an air shot that Paul Robinson would have been
proud of. The ball found a visiting forward who calmly netted.
The second half saw
a more determined Haverfordwest and they controlled matters for long
periods and should have equalised on
the hour but the striker with only Anderson to beat, lacked
composure and the ball sailed high and wide.
Shaun Best had a
number of chances, on sixty eight minutes he shot over the bar, on
eighty two their keeper parried his shot and Carl Payne followed up
to head the third.
There was still
time for Shaun Best to have another attempt to get on the score
sheet but once again their keeper made an excellent save to deny
him.
