Pontardawe had the early pressure but we took the lead on 19
minutes when a long ball from Carl Evans caught out the visitors
defence for Chris Latham to just beat the keeper to the ball and
score his seventh goal of the season.
Five minutes
later Jay Evans in goal made a terrific double save to protect
the lead. First of all he punched clear under pressure and as
the forward shot he dived to push the ball clear. We went 2-0 up
after 27 minutes when Shaun Best netted his eighth goal of the
season.
On the half hour
Mitch Patton played the ball over the top for Chris Latham but
this time the keeper just won the race for the ball. The second
half was almost a repetition of the Morriston game as we were
being caught offside virtually every time we tried to attack. As
a result Pontardawe monopolised possession and most of the game
was played in our half.
Our only shot of
the second half came with eight minutes to go when Neal Hendra
made space for himself but fired over the bar.
