Afan Lido 3-0 Neath Ath

The Reserves supplemented by Shaun O'Leary and Justin Williams who were returning from injury and Karl Lewis who is unavailable for Wednesday's match at Croesyceiliog overcame a determined Neath Athletic side.

We settled the quicker and had the better of the early exchanges and our first chance came after 15 minutes when a Karl Lewis cross was met by Simon Witheridge beyond the far post, he played it back in to Neil Hendra but his first time effort went wide.

We took the lead on 20 minutes when Shaun O'Leary took a free kick wide left and his cross was turned in at the far post by Karl Lewis. Neath then had a series of attacks where good defending by Matthew Beynon and Josh Cokley kept them out. Neil Hendra created space in the box to shoot but the Neath keeper made a fine save tipping the shot over for a corner.  On 34 minutes a Neath free kick from 30 yards beat Josh Cokley but smacked against the crossbar and flew to safety.

We went two up after 41 minutes when Ali Walkley picked the ball up in midfield and moved forward and his shot from the edge of the area sailed over the keeper and dipped just under the crossbar. Neath had a good spell in the early stages of the second half but failed to trouble Josh Cokley.

Neil Hendra and Remi Whitelock combined to send Remi down the left but his cross into the box was just cleared ahead of the incoming Hendra. Remi then took aim from 30 yards and the ball just went wide of the post. Ceri Cook scored the third with 6 minutes to go, receiving the ball from Dan Williams he got into the area wide right, cut in and drew the keeper and calmly slotted the ball past him for his first senior goal.
