The reserves recorded an excellent win at Tudor Park and but for
some excellent keeping the score would have been much greater in
our favour.
We were so
much on top and played some excellent football that the home
side had no answer to our play. We took the lead after 5
minutes when a simple ball over the defence left Corey Thomas
flying past the last defender, he rounded the keeper and coolly
slotted home.
Corey
turned provider after 19 minutes but Shaun Best's shot hit the
side netting.
On 32
minutes we attacked down the right, Scott Bamsey cut inside but
chose to shoot instead of squaring the ball resulting in an
excellent save by the keeper.
On 40
minutes Corey again slotted the ball through for Shaun only for
the keeper to save. Just before half time Shaun shot from
point blank range and the keeper flung himself to block the
shot.
Half time
came with only the one goal for our supremacy but within 5
minutes of the second half starting we doubled our lead when
Shaun Best beat the offside trap, had the composure to round the
keeper and fire into the empty net for his second goal in two
matches.
We
continued to dominate and chances to Cory, Shaun and Scott
Bamsey either went wide or were saved by the keeper who was the
only Park player to impress.
An
excellent win, let's hope we can maintain this form, returning
after a couple of seasons away was Gavin Wellington while making
a first appearance on the bench was Tom Darlington.
