Tonight's game was a bit one sided with the Lido running out eventual 11-0 winners.

But Garw keep the goals at bay until the 31st minute, and by half time the game was over with goals from Mark Jones, Andy Pearson Tomas Wellington and Carl Edwards.

The 2nd half saw another avalanche of goals with Mark Jones bagging a 2nd half hat-trick tacking his tally to 4 on the night, Andy Pearson scoring his 2nd of the night, Corey Thomas also scored a brace and Damon Thomas's goal made it 11-0.

My change of EMAIL ADDRESS

I have had to change my email address (again) the amount of Spam I have been getting is beyond a joke, it's my own fault for leaving my email address at the bottom of the home page. I have now changed that, there is a contact form now in its place so no one other than my contacts will have my new address, I can still be contacted via the form but my email is not given. Hopefully this will lead to no more Spam, if not you'll have to send me snail mail ;)

You will receive my new email address so please start using dat one. If you haven't received my new email contact me via the form page via the bottom of the home page.

10 man Lido lose to Pontardawe Reserves

Afan Lido U19 1-2 Pontardawe Reserves
Report by Richard Barrett

This friendly !!! was played on Friday night and started off at a good pace and after 10 mins Lido won a pen.

Remi struck the ball well to the keepers left but it was well saved. A few mins later Ponty took the lead. Lido failed to clear the ball from a corner and their centre half hooked the ball into the top corner. On 16 mins Lido were level Karl P floated a ball over the defence for Remi to guide a header over the advancing keeper.

The game then turned ugly on 35 mins Dale L went in two footed on a Ponty player resulting in a red card and a stretcher. The game had only restarted a few mins following a long delay ,when Remi was involved with a Ponty player resulting in raise arms and punches thrown ...both players were lucky to receive yellow cards . The call the game to a holt and both set of players left the field .....

The teams appeared for the 2nd half and the game was played in a better spirit, Karl P received a harsh yellow card following a tough but fair tackle . With 20 mins left Ponty took the lead with a well crafted goal as the game reach the closing stages Ponty should have extended their lead but poor finishing meant the score remained 2..1 against the 10 men Lido.

Young Lido star signs for Cardiff City

Young Luke Fleming from last season's Lido under 11's side has been signed by Cardiff City after just a two week trial, His proud dad (Lido director Andrew Morgan) informed me this morning, Luke will probably not be able to turn out for Lido in the future, which has made Luke a bit low, but he will be joining Lewis Holmes at City's academy (son of Gaffer Phil)

Andy would like to thank Phil Holmes and the other coaches who started off Luke at the development centre and has since trained him well at Lido.

We all wish young Luke the very best on what looks like being the start of a very promising career in soccer.
