We knew it was to be hard
'cos Swansea have an academy and train 3 times a week
Lido went out in the 1st
half and had most of the possession until a fantastic Bethan Lloyd strike
put the Swans up 1-0.
The only chance of the 1st
half for Lido came in the form of a left foot strike on the edge of the box
from Skipper Harriet Williams only to be saved by the Swans keeper.
2nd half and Lido came out
and immediately went 2-0 down when Bethan Lloyd struck again at the inside
netting of Chambers' goal.
The fitness of Swansea
started to show over the Lido team and a corner was fumbled into the goal by
Lido keeper Sam Chambers who had done well against a tough Swansea strike
force.
In the 72nd minute, the
unstoppable Bethan Lloyd got her hatrick for Swansea followed by a goal from
Ali Vickers.
Lido picked up their heads
in the last 15minutes of the game and retaliated with an Aimee Bowditch goal
in the 82nd minute and soon afterwards, substitute Stephanie Cook scored a
lovely goal which was disallowed due to an Aimee Bowditch challenge on the
Swans keeper.
2 fantastic Lido players who
didn't stop running for the full game was sweeper Lianne
Beynon and full back Tina Ellis. they stopped some storming runs from the
Swansea attack.
Lido look forward to their
next fixture at Caerphilly Castle on Sunday and hope they can return to
the form that beat Haverfordwest Town last Sunday whilst taking some
good points from their 1st half performance in today's game.
