AFAN LIDO 0-3 PONTYPRIDD

Truthfully speaking the Lido Ladies were not looking forward to this match too much after the losing to Pontypridd 11-1 last time but under the wing of a new coach, attitudes were changing.

13 players were available for this match so the squad number problem seems to be easing.

The first 15 minutes of the match was completely dominated by the Lido, with Stephanie Cook and Aimee Bowditch constantly challenging the Pontypridd keeper. Lido also welcomed the return of key defender Roisin Sanders who kept the back line in check.

Lido were unlucky however in the first half to concede a penalty which resulted in Pontypridd being 1-0 up at half time. Heads were high though as no matter what the score was; Lido still looked the more threatening team.

In the second half Pontypridd managed to score another after a quick counterattack and were then awarded another penalty to take the score to 3nil. Those who watched the match could easily see that Lido could have drawn or won this easily but lady luck was again not watching this game (she was at Stamford Bridge at the time)…

The Ladies face Ferndale at home on Sunday but again the squad will be depleted so they need all the support they can get!
