Haverfordwest took the lead with a
30 yard drive in the 20th minute only for Hayley Williams to retaliate from a
Nadean Mahoney corner in the 35th minute.
A refreshed Lido side took the
lead in the second half in the form of a goal from another Nadean Mahoney
corner but this one was scored by herself in the form of a corner in the 60th minute
Haverfordwest were not to be
knocked down and equalised in the 65th minute. However, the strong Lido
team held their heads up high and a great goal from Aimee Bowditch saw the final
result as 3-2 to the Lido Ladies.
Haverfordwest put up a good fight
but an improved Lido squad with a change in formation from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 were
clear victors coming away with the full 3 points.
The start of the season has
brought a new keeper to the side in Samantha Chambers who was quick off the line
on several occasions.
Lianne Beynon created a new role as sweeper to
the team and adapted to this task easily.
All in all, a fantastic result for the Lido in
the first game of the season in Division 1.
