We travelled to Bridgend Sunday to play our 4th league game of the
season, and ended up losing out in a 10 goal thriller.
Bridgend
were first to score after 5 mins, scored by Erica Monaghan, but Lido drew
level when Aimee Bowditch slid in to beat the Bridgend keeper following
a good cross from Nadean Mahoney
Bridgend
re-took the lead With Natalie Moyes getting her first goal of the game, but
their lead didn't last long as Aimee equalized a 2nd time for the Lido in the
35 min.
But
we fell behind again just on the stroke of half time with an excellent strike
for Bridgend's Emma Meredith.
The
torrential rain didn't help either side but Lido drew first blood in the
2nd half, and it was Aimee again scoring her hat-trick on 55 mins pulling
us back to 3-3.
But
back came Bridgend again to re-take the lead when Emma Meredith scored her 2nd
and Bridgend's 4th to go up 4-3.
But
on 65 minutes Aimee once again drew Lido level by scoring her 4th goal of the
game, it also turned out to be our last effort on goal.
Bridgend
re-took the lead again from a corner, to go 5-4 up, and they then sealed all 3
points with another goal also from a corner to finish the scoring at 6-4 to
Bridgend, Natalie Moyes scored one of the last 2 goals to claim her hat-trick,
but the outstanding contribution on the score sheet came from our Aimee with 4
goals.
Our
next outing is in 2 weeks time in the welsh cup when we face Bridgend again,
the game is on at the Marston Stadium, kick off time will be given on the
website when it's confirmed.
