AFAN LIDO 1-1 TON PENTRE
Match report by Peter Reynolds

We paid for missing several chances by conceding an equaliser with 3 minutes to go. Liam McCreesh was injured which resulted in the game being held up for about 10 minutes. Both trainers treated him and Phil Robinson also attended him.

Once Phil had checked him out he was removed on a stretcher and treated by paramedics and taken to Morriston Hospital, at the moment I haven't heard how he is.
After 3 minutes a Craig Martin through ball was picked up by Liam in the area, he seemed to be nudged off the ball but nothing was given. On 9 minutes Shaun O'Leary knocked the ball wide to Ian Jones, he cut inside beat a defender and shot but the keeper turned it over for an unproductive corner. A minute later they shot wide from a good position then Craig Martin got in a good block to deny their 9. We went down and John Felton played the ball wide to Chris Piper his cross was cleared. Steve Parry took a long throw and Ian Jones in a good position failed to get any power in his shot, it fell to John Felton but his shot was cleared.

Liam was injured after 22 minutes, Shaun O'Leary knocked a good ball to Greg Hurley on the right, both Liam and Ian Jones attacked his cross and got in each others way. Both lay inured but Ian got to his feet after a couple of minutes. While Liam was down both sides left the field while he was being treated. Eventually after about 10 minutes the game restarted. Four minutes after the restart a ball over the top found John Felton with only the keeper to beat but he shot straight at him at a good height and it was saved at the expense of a corner. Ton then had a good spell without creating any major problems then just before half time Ton conceded a free kick on the edge of the area Steve Parry took the kick but it was cleared.

In the second half Ton came more into the game in the early stages creating plenty of pressure without any end product, we seemed unable to win any ball in midfield. Ton had a number of corners but all were cleared, we broke out of this period and John Felton got to the ball just ahead of the keeper and knocked it goalwards but just short of the line it was cleared in an acrobatic style. We took the lead on 81 minutes when Shaun O'Leary found Paul Evans, he passed to John Felton in the box, John was tackled and the ref adjudged it worthy of a penalty. Ian Jones took it and scored. As has been the case lately we couldn't hold the lead, with 3 minutes to go, we had a throw in line with the penalty area. Instead of throwing down the line it was thrown inside to Karl Lewis, he was hemmed in by a couple of attackers and played it across the area straight to their sub who scored with a shot to Brian's right. We came back with a couple of long range efforts but failed to trouble their keeper.
