Probably our best win to date against the previously 100% Champions who had also not conceded a league goal.

We played the first half with a strong wind at our backs but this resulted in a number of balls being overhit and drifting out of play. 

In the first few minutes of the game Liam played the ball wide left and was taken out before he could get into the box. This went unpunished but from our position we still looked to have a good shout for a penalty when the cross came in but all we got was a corner. Again a terrific ball went across the box without anyone getting the final touch. 

We eventually took the lead when following good work by John Felton on the right, Ian Jones met his cross to score. Goytre came back and had a free kick wide right in line with the edge of the area, a Goytre head directed the ball to goal but Brian flung himself to make a vital save.

Goytre must have fancied their chances with the wind in the second half and a few minutes in Richard Ryan got the better of Brian and somehow managed to find a defender on the line when it was easier to score.

Goytre continued to play a long ball into the heart of our defence and this was meat and drink to the two Evans's. 

We lost Liam on 53 minutes with a recurrence of a knee injury and John Felton on the hour when the worst tackle of the match went unpunished. Goytre made some tactical substitutions but couldn't find a way through, we made our final substitution on 85 minutes with Chris Latham replacing Karl Lewis. 

There was eight minutes of added on time in the second half and with seconds to go Matt Lavis dived in on the edge of the box to earn Goytre a free kick and himself a booking. The free kick cleared the wall but was straight at Brian and their last chance went begging. All in all a gutsy performance by the players on a difficult night for football and an important result for the club.
