ENTO ABERAMAN 0-2 AFAN LIDO
Match report by Peter Reynolds

A welcome three points with our best league performance to date.
We were full value for the three points and 2-0 certainly didn't flatter us.
Aberaman's only real chance of the game came as early as the third minute when Gareth Scantlebury
diverted a goal bound effort onto the post and away for a corner.

On 7 minutes Ian Jones fired wide after being played in by Craig Martin, on 18 minutes Matt Lavis made
a great run into the box but Chris Piper's pass spun back behind Matt and a possible chance went astray.

On 44 minutes an Aberaman striker miss hit his shot which Scants easily saved and from his clearance,
Phil Holmes crossed for Karl Lewis to head for goal.  Their keeper punched clear under pressure and half time came with the scores level.

We started the second half well and Ian Jones forced a good save from the keeper after he was played in by Karl Lewis.

On 54 minutes Karl Lewis had a shot blocked by the keeper after he was played in by Chris Piper, Ian Jones then hit the crossbar with a shot from the edge of the area following good work by Craig Martin.

The first goal eventually came after 63 minutes following a corner by Craig Martin, the corner was headed back to him and his cross caused panic in the six yard box allowing Chris Piper to sidefoot the ball home. Minutes later Ian fired over and Craig Martin with a long range shot produced a fine save from the keeper.

The second goal arrived after 69 minutes and followed a cross field ball from Greg Hurley to Liam McCreesh.  Liam sold a couple of defenders and squared the ball for Ian to fire home from ten yards.

The last twenty minutes we comfortably saw out and hopefully we've kick started our season.
