Lido
progressed to the last sixteen of the Welsh cup with a deserved
victory over Anglesey side Bodedern from the Cymru Alliance
league.
John
Felton gave us the lead after 10 minutes when he accepted a pass
from Steve Parry and lobbed the keeper from 15 yards.
5
minutes later he was again played in but the keeper made a fine
save to keep the visitors in the game. Shaun O'Leary shot from 25
yards bringing another fine save from the keeper.
On
the half hour Brian Thomas belted the ball down the field and Ian
with only the keeper to beat hoisted the ball over the bar.
Minutes
later Carl Evans had a header cleared off the line following a
corner.
The second half continued in the same vein, a move involving Greg
Hurley, Steve Parry and Ian Jones again saw Ian fire wide. Ian
however made the game safe on 79 minutes when he received a pass
from Steve Parry and hit an unstoppable shot into the net from
just inside the penalty area.
A
minute later Chris Latham hit the crossbar with a header and with
5 minutes to go Shaun O'Leary forced another fine save from the
keeper at his near post.
In
added on time a move down our left saw Greg cross low to Ian who
tapped in from three yards to give the score a more realistic
view.
